Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using VFX Engine, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our platform or services.
Account Integrity
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent credit limits, earn additional free credits, or exploit the referral program is strictly prohibited.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must not share accounts or allow others to access your account.
Referral Program
Referral rewards are intended for genuine referrals between real users. The following activities are prohibited:
- Self-referrals using multiple accounts
- Creating accounts solely to claim referral bonuses
- Coordinating with others to artificially inflate referral counts
- Using disposable or temporary email addresses
We reserve the right to reverse any credits obtained through referral abuse.
Credits and Usage
- Free credits (including monthly beta-program credits) are provided entirely at our discretion, as a courtesy, and are never owed or guaranteed to you. We may modify, reduce, revoke, or discontinue free credits for any user or all users, at any time, for any or no reason. Free credits expire at the end of the period they are granted for.
- If you run out of free credits, you must purchase credits to continue generating. Running out of free credits is not a platform error and is not eligible for any remedy.
- Purchased credits are non-refundable if your account is suspended for violating these terms.
- Credits may not be transferred, sold, or traded between accounts.
Beta Features and AI-Generated Output
- Features labeled beta (including the VFX Engine plugin for Nuke) are beta programs, not finished products. Expect things to go wrong sometimes: bugs, failed generations, unexpected behavior, and features that change or are withdrawn at any time, with or without notice.
- We do not own, develop, or operate the underlying AI models used to generate content on our platform. Generation is performed by independent third-party providers we integrate with, and we are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, appropriateness, or any other aspect of their output, beyond the credit-refund policy below.
- Content you submit for generation is sent to our storage and then on to the relevant AI model provider's own servers to perform the generation - you are submitting it to a third party, not just to us. Our tools connect your account to these third-party providers to help you generate and work with content; do not submit sensitive, confidential, or regulated material (unreleased work under NDA, personal data you are not authorized to share, financial or health information, etc.) unless you have already assessed and accepted that risk yourself. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any unauthorized access to, or breach, loss, or disclosure of, content you choose to submit, whether on our systems or a provider's.
- AI generation is probabilistic. The same prompt and settings can produce different results, and outputs are not guaranteed to match your expectations or intent.
- Storage of generated content is a convenience, not an archive. We may delete stored uploads and generated outputs at any time, for any reason, including to manage storage costs, without notice or liability. Download anything you want to keep as soon as it is generated.
- Every generation shows its credit cost before you confirm it, and you are never charged more than the amount you confirmed.
- If a generation fails to complete, the credits it consumed are automatically refunded to your account.
- Generations that complete successfully are final. Credits are not refunded because an output differs from what you expected or is not to your taste, regardless of its subjective quality.
- Found a bug or unexpected behavior? Contact info@vfxengine.com - we review every report, and confirmed platform errors are made right.
Automated Detection
We use automated systems to monitor for abuse patterns, including but not limited to IP analysis, device identification, and email pattern detection.
Accounts flagged by our systems may be subject to review, restriction, or suspension.
Consequences of Violation
Violations may result in any of the following actions:
- Warning
- Credit forfeiture
- Temporary restriction
- Permanent account suspension
- Legal action in severe cases
All accounts linked to a violating user may be suspended. Decisions regarding account suspension are final.
Content and Usage
- To the extent copyright or other intellectual property rights subsist in content you create using our tools, you own them, and we assign and waive any rights we might otherwise hold. Some AI-generated content with minimal human creative input may not be eligible for copyright protection under Canadian or other applicable law; we make no representation that such content is protectable, and you are responsible for assessing protectability before relying on it commercially.
- You may not use our tools to generate illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
- We may remove content that violates these terms or our content policies.
Limitation of Liability
VFX Engine is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or content generated through our tools.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of VFX Engine after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
