Job Description

Role Overview

The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to generate new business opportunities, develop strong industry connections, and bring projects to the company by identifying and engaging potential clients.

  • Identify, develop, and acquire new business opportunities specifically for Live Action VFX projects across Films, OTT, Episodic, Commercials, and Streaming platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with filmmakers, studios, production houses, OTT platforms, agencies, producers, and key decision-makers within the VFX industry.
  • Lead end-to-end business development activities, including client pitching, project bidding, presentations, negotiations, and commercial discussions for Live Action VFX services.
  • Generate business opportunities from domestic and international markets for services including CG integration, compositing, environments, FX, matchmove, roto-prep, cleanup, and full Live Action VFX pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Executive Producers, VFX Supervisors, and Production Heads to evaluate project scope, feasibility, budgeting, and delivery timelines.
  • Drive revenue growth by securing high-value Live Action VFX projects while ensuring profitability and long-term client relationships.
  • Prepare quotations, project estimates, bids, and commercial proposals aligned with production requirements and company margins.
  • Attend film markets, VFX conferences, networking events, studio meetings, and industry gatherings to expand the company’s business network and market presence.
  • Oversee smooth handover of awarded projects from business acquisition to production execution, ensuring alignment between client expectations and internal teams.
  • Handle client escalations, maintain stakeholder communication, and ensure maximum client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor VFX market trends, competitor activities, production movements, and emerging technologies to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Support strategic planning for business expansion into new territories, studios, and content platforms.
  • Ensure proper utilisation of creative, technical, and production resources to achieve successful project delivery and client retention.
  • Maintain business development reports, sales forecasts, project pipelines, and revenue tracking for management review.
  • Work closely with marketing and branding teams to strengthen the company’s positioning within the global VFX market.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, timelines, delivery commitments, and quality standards on all awarded projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in Business Development, Client Servicing, or Production within the VFX industry.
  • Proven track record of acquiring and managing VFX projects for Films, OTT, Episodic, or Commercial content.
  • Strong industry network with production houses, studios, producers, OTT platforms, agencies, and key decision-makers.
  • In-depth understanding of VFX pipelines, including CG, Compositing, Matchmove, Roto, Prep, FX, and Post-Production workflows.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, bidding, negotiations, project costing, and revenue forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, client management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and projects in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, production workflows, and global VFX business practices.
  • Experience in handling international clients and global business opportunities is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with production, creative, and technical teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Strong leadership, relationship management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, studio visits, industry events, and business development activities.
  • Existing business portfolio or established industry connections within the VFX ecosystem would be an added advantage.
