Crew Manager

This role is a fixed-term contract to cover a parental leave, with the employment period from January through September, 2026.

The Crew Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the end to end of the employee lifecycle and fostering a thriving environment for our creative talents. This position is also responsible for maintaining crew morale and well-being, promoting professional growth, and ensuring strong engagement with their roles. The Crew Manager reports to the Global Resource Manager and is part of the VFX Operations Management team. We operate on a hybrid model and would expect you to work onsite 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Planning & Crewing

Collaborate with department heads and stakeholders to balance team expertise, and experience, ensuring effective artist crewing and scheduling.

Monitor and validate weekly resource reports, participate in resource meetings, and proactively address resource challenges and performance feedback.

Evaluate incoming resource demand versus current supply, identify capacity gaps, and initiate hiring requisitions with the Talent team as needed.

Maintain accurate schedules and utilization overviews for assigned artists and teams using G‑Suite and Shotgrid, providing updates and availability as requested.

Liaise regularly with show producers to align on crew requirements, project timelines, and delivery dates, escalating supply risks or delays to senior management when necessary.

Employee Life Cycle Management

Oversee all aspects of the artist employee life‑cycle, including day‑to‑day queries, attendance, performance, feedback, career progression, show assignments, and contract extensions.

Manage onboarding, induction, and offboarding processes, ensuring proper integration and exit procedures are followed.

Collaborate with the Global Head of Resourcing and Talent team to proactively address and escalate people issues as needed.

Foster a culture of excellence, care, and empathy, serving as a supportive leader and brand ambassador for Eyeline Studios.

Performance Management, Development & Retention

Initiate and lead end‑of‑show performance reviews with Leads, Show Production, and Supervisors, providing feedback focused on individual professional development in collaboration with the HoD and Talent team.

Collaborate with the HoD and Talent team to customize and implement training around feedback and artist’s career progression.

Motivate and care for the crew, assist in troubleshooting issues with the Talent team and other managers for best solutions.

Qualifications

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.

High emotional intelligence, empathy, and the ability to navigate difficult conversations to positive outcomes.

Demonstrated success working with diverse cultural backgrounds and skill sets.

Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and adept at performing in fast‑paced, high‑change environments.

Proficiency in G‑Suite, Microsoft Excel, and production tracking systems.

A strong interest in learning, development, and professional development management.

Understanding of visual effects workflows and industry trends is a plus.
