Job Description

The Gen-AI Producer is responsible for defining, structuring, and managing the AI department across both production and research activities.

This role works in close collaboration with the AI Head of Department / Supervisor, who leads the technical and creative direction of the department. The Gen-AI Producer will focus on organizational, operational, and strategic aspects, ensuring that all AI activities are clearly planned, properly resourced, and aligned with company objectives.

The position requires a strong combination of leadership, operational rigor, and technical understanding, with the goal of transforming the AI department into a structured, predictable, and results-driven function.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall AI strategy in alignment with company goals and production needs
• Translate business and production requirements into structured plans, roadmaps, and priorities
• Establish clear planning across all AI activities, including production support, R&D, and internal tool development
• Help allocate resources effectively across projects and R&D initiatives, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities
• Work closely with production teams to integrate AI into existing workflows and pipelines
• Build, structure, and manage the AI team (artists, TDs, engineers, researchers)
• Oversee hiring, team growth, and performance management
• Define processes, workflows, and standards to ensure efficiency and scalability
• Establish clear objectives, timelines, and measurable deliverables for all R&D activities
• Ensure that research efforts are structured, monitored, and produce tangible outcomes (tools, workflows, knowledge)
• Implement regular checkpoints to track progress and address issues proactively
• Define and manage the department budget, evaluating the impact and ROI of AI initiatives
• Optimize resource allocation and investments in tools, technologies, and personnel
• Ensure that all AI-related work (R&D and production) is properly documented, structured, and shared internally
• Support the integration and scalability of AI tools across the company
• Act as a bridge between technical teams, creative leadership, and production, facilitating alignment and execution

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing technical teams in a complex production environment
• Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to structure workflows and processes
• Solid understanding of AI technologies, including:
• Machine Learning / Deep Learning
• Generative AI (image, video, audio)
• Computer Vision (e.g. face replacement, tracking, etc.)
• Experience integrating AI solutions into production pipelines (VFX experience is a strong plus)
• Experience managing budgets and resource allocation
• Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving environments with a high level of responsibility
• Italian language is a strong plus, but not a limiting factor
