As our projects continue to grow in scale and complexity, we are looking for a Head of Editorial to lead and develop our editorial function, ensuring seamless integration between production, VFX, and post workflows.

Job Description

The Head of Editorial is responsible for overseeing all editorial activities across productions, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high-quality delivery.

This is a senior role requiring both strong hands-on editorial expertise and proven leadership experience. The position will manage and mentor a team of VFX Editors while working closely with Production, VFX Supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth communication and workflow across the pipeline, with the expectation to remain actively involved in editorial work across projects, alongside leading the team.

The role can be fully remote, with a strong emphasis on clear communication, organization, and team coordination across locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the editorial department across multiple projects
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of VFX Editors
  • Define and maintain editorial workflows, standards, and best practices
  • Oversee ingest, conform, versioning, and delivery processes
  • Ensure accurate tracking of shots, edits, and turnovers between departments
  • Work closely with Production and VFX Supervisors to align editorial priorities with show needs
  • Act as the main point of contact for editorial across all productions
  • Ensure consistency of editorial processes across different shows and locations
  • Troubleshoot editorial and pipeline issues in collaboration with technical teams
  • Support the integration of editorial tools within the broader VFX pipeline
  • Manage editorial resources and planning across projects
  • Ensure deadlines and delivery requirements are met

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior VFX Editor, with experience leading or supervising teams
  • Strong understanding of VFX pipelines and post-production workflows
  • High level of proficiency in: Hiero, DaVinci Resolve, Nuke Studio
  • Basic knowledge of Nuke
  • Experience working on high-end film or episodic productions
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, excellent communication skills across creative, technical, and production teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
