Houdini Artist (1 year contract)

Overview:
As a Houdini Artist, you will be an key member of the VFX Team & work with our VFX Supervisor to:
- Determine best approaches to solve CG challenges
- Create pre-visualizations, 3D models and CG environments
- Create photo‑real effects and physically accurate simulations
- Advanced understanding of physically plausible lighting, shading and rendering
- Set up virtual camera from data sheets and track camera motion
- Matchmove objects/characters to match the action in live action plates
- Keyframe animate CG assets
- Working on complex & demanding shots of a project
- Responsible for a sequence of shots to ensure continuity
- Consistently deliver excellent results & meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years VFX industry experience
- Advanced proficiency in Houdini
- Professional FX, Lighting and/or Layout experience on feature films/tv series is an asset
- Strong creative eye & critical attention to details
- Excellent communication skills in either English or Norwegian
- Ability to comprehend feedback and come up with creative & technical solutions
- Proactively work in a team‑based environment
Not a requirement, but is an asset:
- Experience or interest in Unreal Engine
- Experience with USD (Universal Scene Description)
- Experience with Substance Painter, Photoshop, Zbrush and/or Mari
- Experience with 3D packages (such as 3DStudio Max or Blender)
- Experience with PFTrack or other 3D tracking software (SynthEyes, 3DEqualizer or Cinema 4D)
- Python scripting knowledge
- An interest in photography & lighting
