LIGHTING AND COMPOSITING ARTIST

Studio 3D

Position for a 4-week temporary contract
Starting in mid-June 2026

As a lighting/comp artist, you create rich and refined visual environments. You also create lighting that enhances the characters and settings of our animation, vfx or print projects.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret concept art, mood boards, references or color keys;
  • Assemble, update and light 3D scenes;
  • Visually integrate VFX elements into filmed images (when necessary);
  • Launch and optimize renderings;
  • Ensure image quality;
  • Maintain continuity from one shot to the next;
  • Arrange different image sources in compositing scripts;
  • Assemble visuals and audio from 3D animation commercials into an edit (as needed);
  • Prepare presentation elements for validations;
  • Provide supervisors and producers with progress reports (as needed).

WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • A degree in a 3D animation program;
  • Experience in 3D lighting and compositing;
  • Experience in film, advertising, television;
  • Experience with fully 3D projects (asset);
  • In-depth knowledge of post-production techniques;
  • Knowledge of Python (asset);
  • Knowledge of Shotgrid (asset);
  • Knowledge of Solaris and USD (asset);
  • A comfort level with the Linux / Unix environment (asset).

YOUR WORK TOOLS:

  • Houdini (Solaris), for lighting
  • Redshift and Deadline, for rendering
  • Nuke, for compositing
  • Hiero or NukeStudio for editing.

ENVIRONMENT, VALUES AND WORKING CONDITIONS

You will be part of a small group of lighting and compositing specialists. Depending on the project, you will either take full responsibility for these tasks or share them with your colleagues located around the world. You wll also work with a group of 5 to 30 3D artists depending on the scale of the production.
