Purpose of the job
The Look Development Artist works as part of the Look Development team that defines all the technical and aesthetic aspects needed to create the appearance of a 3-D element.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of VRay and Maya or similar raytraced renderers
- Fluent with node-based shading networks
- Creating shader networks in VRay and Maya to hand off to lighting for use in shot
production
- Participates as a team member in determining various design and technical solutions;
provides feedback to other team members of the production
- Linear color pipeline/understanding of colorspaces and global illumination problems and
techniques
Education and/or Experience Required
- Strong knowledge of VRay and Maya
- Strong problem solving ability and proven good creative eye
- Basic Nuke skills
- Must be able to work in a collaborative environment, and take direction from Supervisors
- Must provide solid lookdev and/or lighting examples with detailed breakdown
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands
- Office working environment.
- Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but will require extra hours
pending production needs.
- Walking/bending/sitting.

The posted range describes the minimum to maximum range for this job description in the state of California and the provinces of British Columbia and Quebec. The range is posted in accordance with applicable law. The range for this same position may be lower or higher in markets outside of California or the provinces of British Columbia and Quebec. Offered base pay is contingent on internal equity, as well as the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.
