Tenerife, Spain

Production ManagementFULL_TIME

Production Technology Manager

At 22DOGS, we are dedicated to crafting world-class visual effects within a collaborative and production-driven environment. With studios in Milan, Tenerife, and Toronto, we bring together top-tier talent, robust pipelines, and scalable infrastructure to deliver high-end work across film and television.

As we continue to grow rapidly, the complexity of our productions and technical ecosystem is increasing. We are looking for a Production Technology Manager to play a key role in ensuring that our infrastructure, pipeline, and technical resources evolve in line with production needs.

Job description

The Production Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the studio’s technical infrastructure and software pipeline, with a strong focus on supporting production efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

This role sits at the intersection of production, VFX supervision, and technical teams, acting as a central point of coordination to ensure that systems, resources, and priorities are aligned with project demands.

The position requires a highly organized and pragmatic leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving, ensuring that technology consistently enables, rather than limits, production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the studio’s technical infrastructure, including render farm, storage, networking, and workstations
  • Collaborate with pipeline and development teams to maintain and improve the software pipeline
  • Plan, allocate, and optimize technical resources in line with production requirements
  • Work closely with Production and VFX Supervisors to define priorities and ensure alignment
  • Ensure system stability, performance, and scalability across all production phases
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement long-term, structural solutions
  • Improve workflow efficiency and reduce operational friction across departments
  • Coordinate technical troubleshooting and manage critical issues when they arise
  • Define and implement operational best practices, standards, and documentation
  • Monitor infrastructure usage and costs, proposing optimizations where needed
  • Contribute to the definition and execution of the studio’s overall technology strategy

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in VFX, animation, post-production, or high-performance computing environments
  • Strong understanding of VFX pipelines and production workflows
  • Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure (render farms, storage, networking, cloud environments)
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and general Windows system management
  • Experience in resource planning and technical coordination within production contexts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach

Nice to Have

  • Experience with render management systems (Deadline, Qube, or similar)
  • Knowledge of Linux environments and scripting (Python, Bash)
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and distributed scaling
  • Technical background (Pipeline TD, System Engineer, or similar)

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on high-end international productions
  • A central role at the intersection of technology and production
  • A fast-growing, dynamic environment with real ownership and autonomy
  • Direct impact on studio efficiency, workflows, and scalability
  • Close collaboration with leadership and supervision

Why Join Us?

At 22DOGS, you’ll be part of an ambitious and fast-evolving VFX studio where production and technology are deeply interconnected. This role offers the opportunity to shape how infrastructure and pipeline support real-world production at scale, with a tangible impact on the studio’s growth and success.
