Job Summary

We’re excited to be back in our Montreal studio Tuesday thru Thursday… come join us! The Surfacing Artist is responsible for the creation and application of textures for use in the production of live-action and fully CG images. The Surfacing Artist is also responsible for collaborating with the Lighting, Shading, Look Development Artists and Surfacing Lead to create a variety of textural looks and styles.

Responsibilities

•Paint maps and images for surfacing department. •Create efficient UV layouts. •Create and maintain desired surface look and feel for characters, props and environments with direction from the Production Designer and/or Art Director.

Qualifications

•Degree/diploma in fine arts or animation or equivalent experience •Minimum 1 year of experience in Feature Film, Commercial and/or Video Game production •Experience with Maya and Arnold or similar render packages •Good artistic eye for detail with ability to match art reference •Familiarity with polygonal surfacing and UV layout •Experience in Mari, Substance Painter or similar 3D painting package This job description is not meant to be all inclusive.
