Founded by artists for artists, The Third Floor is a fun, creative studio where we work on high-profile projects while maintaining a collaborative, small-studio culture. In 2022, we expanded with a dedicated animation department that creates final content for film, episodic, and games. Our work has received multiple Emmy and VES awards, and our clients include Disney, Marvel, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Universal, 20th Century, and many more.
The Third Floor is looking for an Unreal TA/TD to join our Visualisation team using Unreal Game Engine. The Unreal TA/TD will work to troubleshoot technical issues and problematic renders, set up FX (Niagara) in UNREAL and ingest marketplace assets.
Responsibilities:
- Support our internal Unreal-ready asset management
- Organize and experiment with TTF’s Marketplace content
- Prepare and curate Marketplace content for active shows
- Follow our internal training programs, providing feedback and support to our L&D Team
- Art direct renders in master scenes
- Troubleshoot problematic renders
- Create Cyclops assets
- Aid new starters in exploring internal training program material
Essential Skills:
- Must have professional experience with Unreal Engine 5
- Must be comfortable with navigating in Unreal Engine 5 Interface (Project Browser, Content Browser, Outliner, Levels, Sequencer, Material Editor)
- Understanding of Maya asset creation and the FBX format
- Understanding of the PBR workflow and working with Textures for look development
- Experience with Blueprints
- Experience with Control Rig, Movie Render Queue, and Render Passes
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with Lighting and Shading in Unreal
- Experience with Source Control (Perforce preferred)
- Using Niagara system to design and create FX
- Help to improve technical pipelines and FX creation techniques/tools

- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both on a technical and creative basis
- Artistically as well as technically inclined
- Strong time management and organizational skills
