Unreal Pipeline Technical Director
Brown Bag Films is currently looking for an experienced Unreal Pipeline Technical Director to collaborate in the delivery of production-ready tools for its production pipeline.
Role Title: Unreal Pipeline Technical Director
Reporting to: Pipeline Supervisor
Purpose: Why you’re here at Brown Bag Films
- To develop and support the Production Tool and systems for Brown Bag Films Production pipeline in Studio and to outsource partners.
- To mentor and develop the skillsets of other Pipeline Technical Directors in the team, problem solving as appropriate (Lead only).
Delivery: What you produce
- CG/Production Pipeline Tools
- Design workflows and processes
- Technical support services for internal Production and overseas partner.
Measurements: How we measure it
- Development within sprint periods
- Completion of Development phases within the estimated bid and sprint periods
- Completion of support tickets within support sprint periods
- Feedback from Production Managers and CG Heads of Department
What you are regularly responsible for doing
- Developing, documenting, and maintaining tools for current productions, integrating into the existing CG pipeline.
- Training and supporting Artists in using pipeline tools including our outsource partner studios.
- Supporting and troubleshooting technical Production issues with the Studio and with overseas partner studios; being the point of contact for assigned Productions.
- Attending production operational meetings to represent the pipeline team to answer technical questions.
- Working with a centrally managed pipeline development team.
- Using source code version control systems to deploy code in Production.
Things that help you do your job (what is essential & what is desirable)
Knowledge: Working knowledge of pipeline / Production Tool Development. Working knowledge of Production Workflows and Tracking.
Experience: Working as Pipeline Technical Director or similar position) in either Animation or feature film work. With asset tracking systems (e.g. shotgun) (desirable).
Technical Skills: Understands the core features of Maya, Unreal & Developing in a python environment.
