Assistant to Head of Television
General Summary
The Assistant to the Head of Television will provide full administrative and project management support to the Head of Television and the LAIKA Live Action department.
Job Functions
- Provide on-going administrative support to the Head of Television including phone coverage, schedule coordination, office organization, travel arrangements, and expense reports.
- Work closely with cross-functional Live Action teams to ensure all administrative needs are met.
- Work closely with cross-functional LAIKA teams to ensure effective communication and alignment with LAIKA Live Action.
- Attend meetings and provide notes, meeting recaps, and action items to relevant parties.
- Assist in preparing internal and external presentations of new and existing properties and projects.
- Provide on-going creative support to the Head of Television and the broader Live Action team including, but not limited to, project and talent tracking, reading a heavy volume of source material, generating talents lists, and giving notes on existing and incoming material.
- Actively monitor target resources for potential source material and new talent.
- Act as liaison for external partners including agencies, writers, production partners, talent, etc.
- Regularly meet with contemporaries in the community to gather market intelligence and keep the department plugged in to industry trends.
Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of industry experience, preferably at talent agencies or other entertainment companies.
- Avid reader with demonstrated skillset in story analysis, and strong knowledge of industry trends.
- Demonstrated tact and diplomacy with proven ability to use discretion, sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Highly proficient in entire MS Office Suite; strong Excel & PowerPoint skills.
