POSITION PURPOSE
The Art & DMP Department Coordinator position is a critical role in the workflow process for the department. They will use their understanding of production workflows to manage priorities across multiple shows simultaneously. They will learn to identify and flag concerns to the Project Manager, Head of Department and Department Supervisor. They will promote interdepartmental communication to move information from one department to expedite completion. They will be on the pulse within the department and be able to communicate status reports to the Project Manager when required.
They will use their love for film and positive attitude to establish relationships with artists and will be willing to learn new techniques to increase production efficiencies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide ongoing support to ensure the highest productivity of the artists
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously within the Art & DMP Department.
- Organise internal department meetings and show review sessions
- Take and distribute detailed meeting notes via Shotgrid.
- Work with the Production Manager and Supervisors to adhere to schedules and keep tasks on track.
- Able to generate task schedules based on milestones provided.
- Track the status of all tasks in the department, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database
- Communicate successes and challenges faced by the team to the Production Manager
- Ensure artists have the information and materials required to complete their work efficiently
- Facilitate communication between departments
- Ensure all email & remote chat correspondence is up to date, responding to emails & messages in a timely manner
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 1+ years’ experience as a production assistant/coordinator in the assets dept in feature film/TV is preferred, otherwise a background in VFX/Animation required.
- Understanding of VFX workflow process is preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Technical skills
- Basic MS Excel skills
- Shotgrid/ Proprietary task management software experience is an advantage
