Sets and Environment Artist
We’re excited to be back in our Montreal studio Tuesday thru Thursday… come join us! The Sets and Environments Artist is responsible for creating and maintaining set assemblies and set dressing for production sequences and shots.
Responsibilities
- Create master set assemblies; sequence, and shot-based set dressing to enhance story points and to make aesthetic improvements to a set
- Generate and scatter grass, foliage and other assets procedurally and provide creative and technical solutions for creating large scale environments
- Provide support to Layout and Animation Artists to maintain continuity through sequences and across sequences, as needed
- Troubleshoot and maintain shot files (culling and clean up) for productivity and functionality as shots proceed through the production pipeline
- Prepares movie files/rendered images for review
Qualifications
- Degree/diploma in fine arts or animation or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 years’ production experience in Feature Film, Television, Commercial and/or Video Game Production
- Solid knowledge of Maya is required
- Solid knowledge of scattering in Houdini is required
- Basic understanding of CG modeling is preferred
- Experience with SpeedTree, procedural grooming or attribute based FX is a plus
- Knowledge of python and/or MEL scripting is a plus
