For Nuke 13+Beta

VFX Engine inside Nuke

Generate AI elements - video up to 4K and images - from a panel inside Nuke and drop them straight into your script as Read nodes. Your VFX Engine credits, your comp, no web round-trip.

Generating spends real credits, so it runs on your account: exact cost shown first, failed renders refunded, every result saved to your dashboard.

Not affiliated with Foundry - you need your own valid Nuke license. By installing you agree to the Beta Agreement.

Beta

This plugin is in beta and still under testing

We are actively improving it, and some things may not work the way they should yet. If you hit an error, a broken install, or anything that looks wrong, please tell us: email info@vfxengine.com. We read every report, confirmed platform errors are made right, and failed renders always refund their credits automatically.

Requirements

  • Nuke 13 or newer (tested on Nuke 17)
  • macOS or Windows
  • A free VFX Engine account
  • Uses Nuke's bundled Python, nothing to install

Good to know

Do I need my own Nuke license, and are you affiliated with Foundry?+

You need your own valid Nuke license from Foundry. Nuke is a trademark of Foundry, and this plugin is an independent third-party integration, not made, endorsed, or affiliated with Foundry. It runs inside a copy of Nuke you already have the right to use.

What do I need to run it?+

Nuke 13 or newer on macOS or Windows, your own commercial Nuke or NukeX license, and a stable internet connection: generation runs in the cloud, so the plugin uploads what you wire in and downloads the result back next to your script. There is nothing else to install. Nuke Non-Commercial is not supported, because it blocks third-party plug-ins and MP4 export.

How much does it cost?+

There is no subscription. Every generation shows its exact credit cost before it runs, and you are never charged more than you confirm, and any refund for a failed render shows in your credit history. Approved beta testers get a monthly allowance of free credits to explore, and you buy more only when you need them. Purchased credits are valid for 12 months.

Why do I need a VFX Engine account?+

Because generating spends real credits. Your account shows the exact cost before every render, refunds failed ones automatically, and keeps every result in your dashboard.

How do I sign in, and is my account safe?+

There are no API keys to paste. You sign in from the panel with a quick browser approval, the same account you use on vfxengine.com, and you can revoke access at any time from your settings.

What gets uploaded, and is it kept?+

Only the source you wire into a node and your prompt are sent to run the generation. Every finished result is also saved to disk next to your Nuke script the moment it completes, so you always have a local copy. Server-side storage is a convenience, not an archive.
