DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1 - Accountable for the day to day accounting functions encompassing full cycle accounting and payroll, including:
- Accounts receivable
- Overseeing processing and payment of vendor invoices
- Reviewing bank reconciliations
- Maintaining Chart of Accounts and General Ledger
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Reviewing payroll biweekly and being the resident payroll system expert
- Liaise with Head Office and other locations regarding various finance matters
2 - Weekly, Monthly and Annual Corporate Reporting:
- Accountable for the timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Accountable for preparation of all working papers to support financial statements, along with account analysis, including but not limited to:
- review of transactions
- complete month-end accruals
- complete leadsheets
- allocation of costs
- ensuring the monthly statements are accurate
- Preparation of weekly short term cash flow analysis
- Preparation of monthly intercompany recharge
3 - Tax compliance:
- Overseeing the preparation of all GST, PST, WCB, EHT etc. reports
- Performing the year-end tax accrual estimate
- Managing our annual T1 program for employees
4 - Work closely with Finance Director to respond to audit queries including the annual financial audit, statutory and periodic 3rd party audits
5 - Administrative and other adhoc duties, as required.
6 - Management and Training of AP Clerk and Payroll Administrator
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a mid-senior level accounting role
- Knowledge of the Visual Effects industry is an asset
- CPA Designation
- High level working knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Knowledge of SAP ByDesign is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to multi task and work in a fast paced environment, with timely results
