We are currently looking for an In House Counsel to join our talented team here at our Dublin Studio. The successful candidate will identify legal risks and compliance concerns arising in the BBF Dublin business and support the Dublin production function by ensuring clear, accurate contracts are executed for all production activity in Dublin and providing business and legal advice to the production team. The successful candidate will also support the BBF Dublin business by providing general legal advice, commercial contracts and addressing compliance requirements.

This role supports multiple areas of the business that include development, production, post-production and corporate affairs.
This is a Full-Time Permanent role based in our Dublin Studio.
Please note that our studio operates on a hybrid model, with a minimum of two days per week required in the studio.
The successful candidate must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating contracts for Dublin productions, such as production services agreements, writer and talent agreements, director, producer, music composer and contributor services agreements.
- Drafting and negotiating general commercial agreements for Dublin business, such as NDAs, leases, software licenses, employment agreements, consulting and services agreements.
- If requested, assisting global legal team with drafting and negotiating other types of agreements, as required by the global business.
- Providing business affairs and legal advice across all departments in Dublin (including development, production, marketing, HR, IT and finance), which may include interpretation of agreements, assisting with contract disputes, insurance and clearance matters, and marketing, privacy and data protection laws.
- Drafting shareholder and board approvals for Irish companies.
- Reviewing script clearance reports, title reports and doing general clearance work for errors and omissions insurance purposes.
- Oversee company secretarial and corporate compliance requirements for Irish companies.
- Maintaining statutory books of Irish companies, including registers of members, directors and secretaries.
- Manage Dublin legal executive, overseeing the execution of duties with a focus on development of talent.
- Manage, in collaboration with SVP Finance, BBF trademark registrations.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with external counsel, government departments and industry associations in Ireland.
- Collaborating with the global legal team to develop and implement legal policies, procedures, templates and best practices.
- Carry out any further tasks, as requested, for which your qualifications & experience are suited.
Key Requirements
Knowledge
- Copyright/entertainment law; preferably in the area of tv or film development, production and/or licensing.
- Versatile and technically strong solicitor with a solid understanding of copyright law
Experience
- Some experience of working in the film or tv industry or in intellectual property and corporate law in a reputable law firm
- Experience of drafting and/or negotiating commercial contracts.
- Company secretarial and regulatory compliance experience an advantage
- Can demonstrate a committed to proactively improving the quality and standard of work
Technical Skills
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2/3 years PQE
- Strong negotiation, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, organizational and computer skills
- Proven commercial drafting skills

Terms and Conditions
- Salary: €90k – 100k (DOE)
- Contract: Full Time- Mon to Fri
- Hours: 37.5 Hours weekly
- Hybrid Policy- Minimum of 2 days per week in studio
- Exclusivity - Services to be provided on an exclusive basis.
- Termination right - 8 weeks’ notice.
- Work for hire - Full buy-out of all rights worldwide and in perpetuity. No additional reuse fees, royalties, participation or other payments.
