Layout Artist

As a Layout Artist, you will be responsible for the story-telling, shot sequence continuity, and presentation as part of the VFX pipeline. Utilizing assets from the modeling department and/or camera track from the matchmove department, you will create a rough pass of the shot as a whole as well as package necessary components for use in later departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Create visually striking composition based on the shot description and/or storyboard
- Match references such as previs and/or images
- Supplement shots with simple but convincing animation, lighting, and FX to aid story-telling
- Stitch plate-based shots into a full CG environment and vice versa
- Assemble the correct combination of assets in a shot for use in downstream departments
- Include proof of scale and continuity in a virtual layout set up
- Debug technical problems and escalate issues as needed
- Takes directions and applies notes from supervisors
Qualifications
- Three (3) to five (5) years of layout experience in visual effects for feature film or television (required)
- Advanced software skills in Maya
- Extensive skillset in-camera animation, staging, and set dressing
- Great sense of presentation via lighting, texturing, and/or FX
- Solid animation grounding for story-telling purposes
- Background or experience in traditional Fine Arts demonstrating a thorough understanding of framing and composition
- Great eye for detail with excellent and consistent quality assurance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate in English and Korean
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in the field of arts, film, and/or animation
- Basic to Intermediate skills in 3ds Max, Photoshop, Shotgun, Nuke, and Scripting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a team player with a great attitude

- 샷 설명 혹은 스토리보드를 기반으로, 비주얼 적으로 눈에 띄는 구도를 만듭니다.
- Previs 혹은 이미지와 같은 레퍼런스와 일치시킵니다.
- 단순하지만 설득력있는 애니메이션, 라이팅 및 FX로 장면을 보완하여 스토리텔링을 지원합니다.
- 플레이트 기반 샷을 전체 CG 환경에 연결하거나, 혹은 반대로 CG 환경에 플레이트를 접목시키는 작업을 합니다.
- 후반부 디파트먼트에서 문제 없이 사용할 수 있도록 정확하게 어셋들을 샷에 배치합니다.
- 가상 레이아웃 설정에 스케일과 연속성에 대한 레퍼런스를 포함합니다.
- 기술적 문제를 디버그하고 필요에 따라 문제를 제기합니다.
- 슈퍼바이저의 지시를 받고 노트를 샷에 신속히 적용합니다.
자격요건
- 3 ~ 5년의 장편 영화 또는 TV 시리즈의 비주얼 이펙트 레이아웃 작업 경험 필수
- Maya 고급 사용자
- 카메라 애니메이션, 스테이징과 셋드레싱에 대한 기술
- 라이팅, 텍스쳐링과 FX를 통한 뛰어난 프레젠테이션 감각
- 스토리 텔링을 위한 견고한 애니메이션 기초 교육
- 구도 및 구성에 대한 확실한 이해를 보여 주는 전통 미술 쪽 배경 또는 경험
- 우수하고 일관되게 퀄리티 있는 작품을 만들어내고, 디테일에 강한 분
- 문제를 트러블슈팅하고 해결하는 능력이 뛰어난 분
- 최소한의 감독으로 독립적으로 일할 수 있는 능력
- 영어와 한국어로 의사소통이 가능한 능력
- 미술, 영화 및/또는 애니메이션 분야의 학사 학위 또는 수료자 우대
- 3ds Max, Photoshop, Shotgun, Nuke와 스크립팅의 기초부터 중급까지의 기술자 우대
- 우수한 의사 소통 및 대인 관계 기술을 가지고 있고 훌륭한 태도를 가진 팀 웍이 좋은 분
