ATLANTIS ANIMATION is an animation studio based in the heavenly Canary Island of Tenerife. A combination of creative talent and technology definitely distinguishes us as a different studio to produce high quality animated series and feature films. We produced the sensational series Tara Duncan and Miraculous Ladybug season 5, both broadcasted on Disney Channel and Disney +.

We are now getting ready for an absolutely new captivating project, the series 'Messi and the Giants', produced by Sony Music Vision, Sony Pictures Television Kids and Leo Messi Management, and broadcasted by Disney. An epic saga where a young boy named Leo is transported from his home in Argentina into a fantastical alternate universe.

Job Description

The Compositing Lead assists the Compositing Supervisor and/or VFX Supervisor and Producer to bid, schedule and execute the compositing production schedule. Day-to-day, they assign and delegate work to the team and monitor shot progress. Additionally, working to, and maintaining, the creative and technical requirements for final images of the Program/s as required by the VFX Supervisor; and to the production schedule provided by the Production Company.

Main Responsabilities and Requirements

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of compositors, assigning work and monitoring progress
  • Ensure all shots meet the creative direction and quality standards set by the project’s Creative Director, and client
  • Attend client reviews and lead daily reviews with the compositing team
  • Maintain visual consistency across sequences and shots
  • Develop creative solutions to enhance shots while supporting the storytelling
  • Ensure that consistency of compositing is maintained across all shots
  • Responsible for ensuring a high level of quality by having a good eye for detail and cross-checking renders are up to standard
  • Stay organised across multiple shots, versions, and render management
  • Maintain clean, well-structured Nuke scripts and file organisation
  • Support the development and use of templates and workflows
  • Collaborate proactively with production, upstream departments, and pipeline teams

Requirements:

  • A minimum of six years of Compositing experience
  • Proven experience as a Compositing Lead on CG-heavy projects (animation, film, TV, or similar)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Expert knowledge of Nuke
  • Experience creating gizmos and templated workflows
  • Python scripting is a plus
  • Solid understanding of photography and camera principles
  • Strong artistic eye for composition, colour, lighting, and mood
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and fluent English
  • Valid EU/Spanish work permit required
  • Availability to work on-site in Tenerife
