Job Summary:
Overall Purpose of the Role
Disney Entertainment (DE) brings together the Disney’s best-in-class product, technology, and commercialization teams together into one global organization. DE is responsible for the P&L management and all distribution, network and engineering operations, sales, advertising, data, and certain key technology functions worldwide for the Company’s content engines. DE also manages operations of the Company’s streaming services including Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+; and domestic broadcast and cable television networks.
Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Hulu and more. Disney+ is available on most internet-connected devices and offers commercial-free programming with a variety of original feature-length films, documentaries, live-action and animated series and short-form content. Alongside unprecedented access to Disney’s incredible library of film and television entertainment, the service is also the exclusive streaming home for the latest releases from The Walt Disney Studios.
Senior Specialist, Programming and Content Curation will be responsible for providing assistance in executing programming and content curation plans for Disney+ Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore & Malaysia. The role is vital to plan and execute content strategy and high-impact curation to ensure subscribers are engaged via a calendar of editorial initiatives that support content discovery and time spent viewing, critical to supporting broader business KPIs of subscriber retention and customer lifetime value. The role will become an expert/super-user in the Disney+ programming and curation tool.
Responsibilities
- Leverage service, market, and behavior data, as well as audience research to drive effective programming strategies, and create high-impact, curated programming events that leverage TWDC brands and franchises
- Work with the market leads to plan, curate, build, publish, and manage Disney+ content programming through the curation tools with accuracy and efficiency to maximize audience engagement and retention
- Managing and tracking alignment with the overall content planning strategy and programmers to execute the scheduling of the programs.
- Partner with operational teams to ensure content and asset management supports effective and efficient curation strategies.
- Collaborate with Growth and Brand & Content Marketing teams for alignment in content priorities.
- Collaborate on regional and territorial digital and social marketing plans
- Pull data analytics to gain and share content performance insights around audience, title, platform, and other key metrics
- Facilitate verbal and written communications between teams, and to the larger organization, including executives and global teams.
- Drive operational all-stars and process improvements, collaborating closely with all program managers and lead developers to ensure on-time, bug-free releases
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing a customer and/or workforce automation solutions
- Passion for quality and consistency, with a track record of delivering high-quality consumer products
- Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into powerful, efficient and effective technology solutions
- Excellent written and cost communication skills
- Proven experience in the digital media industry with an emphasis on client relationships
- Strong technical skills, with a passion for data, technology and how it intersects, with an ability to process data to and analyze and to draw actionable insights
- Comfort in a fast-paced data and data-driven environment with precision
- Strong experience in the following:
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Deep understanding of TWDC content library, brands, franchises, and characters.
- Prior experience in the streaming or consumer technology industry, with a passion for content and new media technologies
- Ability to build strong partnerships in a matrixed organization, and to thrive in a fast-paced, ethical work environment
