CFX Muscle Dev Artist
Purpose of the job
This particular position is specifically for the development of a Muscle System which applies to a multitude of CG characters, and will be interfacing with our Software department for the purpose of utilizing our proprietary Machine Learning technology. Generally speaking, a Character FX artist is expected to learn the proprietary tools/pipeline of DD and the Character FX department, in order to run simulations on hair, cloth, skin and muscle for feature films, TV, commercials, games, VR/AR and New Media.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of a project manager in order to help create a Character FX based
Muscle Rig to be utilized across multiple shows, according to schedule.
- Work with multiple departments such as: Modeling, Rigging, Animation, Software and Pipeline
via methodology discussions, and asset development.
Education and/or Experience Required
- Senior Level Houdini experience is a must
- Advanced Character FX knowledge in these areas:
o Cloth simulation o Muscle and skin simulation o Knowledge of rigging (specifically muscle/fascia/fat/skin) o Solid understanding of modeling production workflow o Solid understanding of rigging production workflows o Solid understanding of animation production workflows
- Experience troubleshooting CFX rig issues and work with various other departments to solve
them

- Hours for this position are based on normal working hours but may require extra hours
pending project needs

The posted range describes the minimum to maximum range for this job description in the state of California and the provinces of British Columbia and Quebec. The range is posted in accordance with applicable law. The range for this same position may be lower or higher in markets outside of California or the provinces of British Columbia and Quebec. Offered base pay is contingent on internal equity, as well as the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.
