Junior Animation TD (Cinematics)

Join DIGIC Cinematics as a Junior ANIMATION TD!

DIGIC has been making 3D animated films for more than twenty years. We have won numerous prestigious awards and created short films for world-renowned brands such as Call of Duty, Netflix's Love, Death & Robots and Amazon's Secret Level series. Our team is currently working on several high-profile projects.

DIGIC Pictures is looking for a new team member who wants to immerse themselves in the technical side of 3D filmmaking within the film and game industry. If you have a solid foundation in programming, find yourself drawn to the world of CGI, and coding is more than just a job to you, then you are exactly who we are looking for!

Responsibilities

As a Junior ANIMATION TD, you will act as the bridge between artistic vision and software capabilities. You will support CGI artists by providing technical solutions, ensuring they can create without technical hurdles, and assisting production workflows with scripted solutions.

  • Supporting and developing the animation workflow.
  • Writing custom tools and scripts to streamline daily tasks.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues (bugs, crashes, export errors).
  • Collaborating closely with senior developers and artists.
  • Continuous experimentation with new technologies and methodologies.
  • Working primarily within Maya and Unreal Engine environments.

Essential skills

  • Programming Fundamentals: Proficiency in at least one programming language (for example python, C++, PHP, etc.) and a systems-thinking mindset.
  • Problem-Solving Attitude: Analytical thinking and the ability to break down complex problems into manageable sub-tasks.
  • Proactivity: When you see a repetitive manual task, your first instinct is to think about how to automate it.
  • Eagerness to Learn: You are excited by technological advancement.
  • Prior knowledge of 3D software (Maya, UE) is not a requirement, but an affinity and desire to learn these complex systems are essential.
  • Communication: Work is primarily conducted in Hungarian, but intermediate English is necessary for documentation and communicating with our international team.

Please note that DIGIC can only work with freelancers who are registered as sole proprietor/entrepreneur or as a self-employed professional!

Desirable skills

If you have experience with any of the following, that’s great—but if not, we will teach you everything you need to know:

  • Knowledge of the Python scripting language (our primary technical tool).
  • Basic knowledge of Maya or other 3D software.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine.

What we offer

  • World-Class Projects: You will work on cinematics for the world’s biggest game studios, seen by millions of people globally.
  • An inspiring professional environment with world-class productions
  • A full-time employment in Hungary - with home office opportunity. But if you prefer office work, our headquarters is located in Graphisoft Park, one of Budapest’s most beautiful tech hubs
  • A supportive, open-minded team and long-term career opportunities
  • Entry into the CGI Industry: This position is the perfect springboard into the technical world of film and game CGI. We provide room for experimentation and genuine professional growth.
