KGO - Local TV Director (As-Needed) (Expression Of Interest)
Job Summary:
Disney Entertainment’s eight owned ABC stations are multiplatform leaders in local news and information. ABC7 KGO-TV is the Bay Area's news leader, delivering breaking news, weather and live video. Producing more than 45 hours of live newscasts every week, ABC7 Eyewitness News is widely recognized for its solution-based journalism and advocacy with legacy franchises Seven on Your Side, and I-Team. ABC7 is a respected and valued community resource, serving San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and the greater Bay Area.
KGO-TV/ABC7 is seeking a dedicated Director to join our team working on live newscasts and local production.

The ideal candidate should have:
- Operational knowledge and/or experience with Ross Overdrive Automation System
- Vinten Robotics
- Xpression graphics
- Dalet systems
- A strong sense of newscast structure, hands-on experience in a computer-assisted environment, ability to work under pressure, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to adapt easily within an organization, and solid people skills.
- Actively seeks challenges and develops solutions independently without waiting for instruction, focusing on outcomes.
- Flexible schedule and ability to work multiple day parts including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct daily newscasts and production as required.
- Work closely with producers, anchors, reporters, production, and engineering staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- BA in Communications or equivalent preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in television production
