Systems Technician

Purpose of the job
Digital Domain is an innovative and global visual effects studio. We are a creative powerhouse that has brought artistry and technology to hundreds of motion pictures, commercials, and games. Our groundbreaking visual effects appear in films such as Avengers: End Game, A Minecraft Movie, and The Electric State The Systems team is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting the technology infrastructure. This includes storage, networking, workstations, cloud, virtualization and rendering. As a Support Technician, you will be part of the Level 1 team and a first responder to incidents and requests supporting all departments and divisions. Support includes but is not limited to; fault diagnosis and fault resolution of Linux, Mac OS and Windows desktops, whilst reporting, tracking and keeping users updated during the process.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Able to work autonomously and within a team and Self-motivated.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and priority handling.
- Front-end support for all incidents and requests.
- Diagnosis and replacement of hardware components.
- Managing assets and loan equipment, including relocation and provisioning.
- Produce and update all the necessary documentation.
- Workstation configuration support (hardware and software).
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or previous experience in a Technical Support role and Customer
Service.
- Knowledge of different OS (Linux, Windows and OSX), software support and deployment.
- Basic scripting language (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Networking.
- Hardware troubleshooting.
- Creative applications such as Maya, Houdini or Nuke.
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands
- Hours for this position are based on normal working hours (9:00am - 6:00pm, with a 1 hour
lunch break) but will require extra hours pending on production needs and may lead to ‘On-Call’ work to be completed.
- Walking/bending/sitting.
- Primarily On-Site Office working environment.

The posted range describes the minimum to maximum range for this job description in the provinces of British Columbia. The range is posted in accordance with applicable law. Offered base pay is contingent on internal equity, as well as the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.
