Framestore's New York office is looking for a VFX Production Coordinator to join our growing team on some new and exciting projects within our Integrated Advertising Division.
The VFX Production Coordinator directly assists the Producers and Head of Production in running the department. Duties will vary and adapt based on the project, but the primary focus is to keep the production pipeline moving efficiently.
This position is designed to prepare individuals for an Associate Producer track. The role involves handling team communication and scheduling, while working closely with Producers. It’s a hands-on way to learn how a VFX pipeline actually functions and see how different production roles connect.
This is a full-time staff position with benefits, operating on a hybrid work model. Candidates must be based locally in New York or the surrounding area at the time of hire.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the VFX Producer, Leads and Supervisors track and manage the workflow through the CG department, meeting internal and external deadlines
Organize dailies, rounds and meetings, taking notes and following up on information as necessary
Oversee data movement of any project references, cad data etc for artist's use
Monitoring of WIP updates from the nuke team to the Hiero editorial pipeline, and final delivery in Flame
Ensure production database (Shotgun / ShotGrid) is kept updated daily with notes and critical information
Communicate information quickly and succinctly to crew and other departments
Anticipate and communicate issues to the Producer and Supervisor to resolve problems quickly
Oversee the execution of client deliveries, including creation of qt's and deliverables via Front 2
Work closely with the Crewing Manager in resourcing the CG/2D team appropriately with freelancers when needed, ensuring that all projects are scheduled correctly with resources
Maintain our global project scheduling system - CETA - working closely with the Creative Resource Manager
Help to maintain a positive, upbeat and professional production office, being pro-active and solution-orientated
At least one year professional experience as a VFX Coordinator working on advertising, episodic, or feature films
Solid foundational understanding of post-production VFX roles, pipeline workflows, and industry vocabulary
Positive and proactive approach to the role, focusing on production support and team morale
Ability to work calmly, collaboratively, and efficiently with both high-profile clients and creative crew under tight deadlines
Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with sharp attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and production tracking software like ShotGrid (formerly Shotgun), with an ability to quickly learn new technologies like CETA
A great sense of humor, any time of day, is always a major plus
Valid US work authorization
New York City Employees: Pay Range: $52,000 - $60,000 per year, non-exempt.
