Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

PFX

Prague, Czech Republic

Studio ManagementFULL_TIME

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

We are looking for a CTO to take full ownership of our technology vision and execution across infrastructure, pipeline, systems, and AI. While experience in post-production, VFX, animation, or media technology is highly valued, we are also open to technology leaders who bring strong operational scale, infrastructure expertise, and a genuine interest in creative workflows and emerging AI technologies.

THE ROLE

  • Own and drive the full technology strategy across Pipeline, IT, Infrastructure, and AI, defining where PFX is going and how we get there
  • Stabilise and strengthen our existing technology landscape, ensuring robust, scalable infrastructure and operational excellence across the group
  • Lead future-facing innovation initiatives in parallel, including AI adoption, automation, and pipeline evolution
  • Serve as a senior strategic partner to the founders on technology investments, architecture decisions, vendor strategy, and build-vs-buy choices
  • Lead the technical teams across Pipeline, IT, and AI, and take ownership of pushing key technology projects forward across all studios, from getting buy-in to seeing them through to delivery
  • Drive integration and standardisation across a multi-studio, multi-country environment with large data volumes and demanding production workflows
  • Ensure technology empowers creative teams and production, never slows them down
  • Attract, develop, and retain top technical talent in a competitive market

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role
  • A track record leading infrastructure and systems in high-volume data environments, across distributed teams and mission-critical operations
  • Strong command of cloud, storage, networking, security, compute infrastructure, and technical scaling
  • Real-world experience with AI strategy and implementation, deploying practical solutions into live production or operational environments
  • Background in post-production, VFX, animation, gaming, media tech, SaaS, or similarly complex and data-intensive environments
  • Strong people leadership across technical disciplines and multiple geographies
  • Business fluency, meaning you can evaluate technology investments, manage costs, and translate complex decisions into clear reasoning
  • Fluent English required

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

  • You have built or led technology organisations through scale, transformation, or integration
  • You know how to stabilise and professionalise existing systems before aggressively expanding innovation initiatives
  • You can balance operational excellence with long-term strategic development, including AI and automation
  • You understand how technology should support high-performance specialist teams and creative or production-driven businesses
  • You are excited about AI’s practical impact on workflows, operations, and industry transformation

WHAT WE OFFER

  • You’ll be shaping the company, not just executing someone else’s plan
  • The chance to define how technology actually works across studio group
  • Projects you’ll recognise: Netflix, HBO, Disney, Amazon, plus top-tier European films and campaigns
  • A team of people who genuinely care about the craft and want tech that helps them do better work
