Production Chinese Translator
JOB BRIEF:
We are looking for a skilled Production Translator to join our Production Management team at The Monk Studios. The role involves translating documents and video content from Chinese to English, adding subtitles, and interpreting during client meetings. The ideal candidate will have strong bilingual communication skills, experience in translation or interpretation, and a good understanding of the animation production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate production-related documents (e.g., scripts, briefs, meeting notes) from Chinese to English, and occasionally Thai.
- Add subtitles to video content in English or Thai as required.
- Act as an interpreter during meetings between clients and internal production teams, primarily facilitating Chinese-English communication.
- Support the production management team in ensuring clear and accurate communication between international clients and local teams.
- Assist in translation and communication tasks across all stages of the production pipeline (pre-production, production, and post-production).
Qualifications:
- Proficient Chinese language skills (both written and spoken)
- Good English communication skills
- Strong understanding of creative or animation-related terminology is a plus.
- Prior experience in translation or interpretation, especially in entertainment, animation, or film, is preferred.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
