DIGIC Pictures has been making 3D animated films for more than twenty years. We have won numerous prestigious awards and created short films for world-renowned brands such as Call of Duty, Netflix's Love, Death & Robots and Amazon's Secret Level series.
DIGIC Pictures is bringing a stylised fantasy world to life for the Magic: The Gathering Netflix series. We’re looking for a Lead FX Artist who can balance creative leadership with technical clarity – guiding tasks, people, and pipelines in one of our most magical productions yet.

Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Plan and manage FX tasks for a stylised animated series
- Break down and prioritise work across a team of artists
- Assign, brief, and review FX work in Houdini (and related tools)
- Ensure consistency with creative vision and technical requirements
- Collaborate with supervisors, production, and other departments
- Monitor project progress and proactively solve issues
- Provide feedback, support, and motivation to your team
- Document and communicate key updates in dProject (our internal tool)
Essential skills
Who we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Lead or Senior FX Artist
- Strong knowledge of stylised FX workflows (especially in Houdini)
- Confident communicator with mentoring & planning skills
- Familiar with Nuke, and FX production pipelines
- Able to estimate effort and structure tasks efficiently
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Freelancers: must be registered and able to invoice legally under Hungarian law
- Must be located in Hungary or within ±2 hours of CET
Desirable skills
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in project planning or task estimation
- Solid understanding of other 3D production areas (asset, lighting, animation)
- Experience presenting internally or to clients
