Resource Manager
DIGIC Pictures has been making 3D animated films for more than twenty years. We have won numerous prestigious awards and created short films for world-renowned brands such as Call of Duty, Netflix's Love, Death & Robots and Amazon's Secret Level series.
Our team is currently working on several high-profile projects, including the animated film series based on the world-famous card game Magic: The Gathering for Netflix.
Position Purpose
The Resource Manager is responsible for the allocation and maintenance of resources across all departments within Digic Animation. The primary objective is to ensure that project capacity needs are met through precise planning of each department's resources represented in dproject (the DIGIC project tracker), working in close coordination with Production and the Games division to balance global resource availability.

Key Responsibilities
Resource Allocation & Maintenance
- Capacity Planning: Create and maintain detailed resource allocation plans in dProject (or other resourcing tool) for all employees across animation departments to ensure needs are met from financial allocation and resource forecasting for all projects.
- Project Orientation: Align resource assignments with specific project orientation and budgets, ensuring that the dProject Timelog system accurately reflects allocated vs. actual effort.
- Conflict Resolution: Negotiate and resolve ideal capacity situations when deviations occur, balancing the needs of different project teams.
Cross-Division Collaboration
- Production Partnership: Maintain constant communication with Project Producers to receive updates on budget evolution and evolving resource requirements.
- Games Division Sync: Regularly check in with the Games division teams to identify potential resource sharing or cross-departmental impacts, and assess forecast where cross/divisions utilization can be planned in advance.
- Recruitment Liaison: Work with HR and Department Managers/HODs to instruct "Hiring Tickets" when internal capacity cannot meet project demands.
- Overhead Management: Manage the allocation of non-project-related capacities (department overhead) to maintain a clear view of total studio utilization.
- Reporting & Data Integrity
- Utilization Reporting: Collect and prepare statements on project and overhead resource usage, presenting data-driven insights to the core management group.
- Schedule Alignment: Continuously monitor project schedule updates to adjust capacity plans proactively, preventing bottlenecks before they impact delivery.
- Budget Oversight: Ensure all resource allocations remain within the financial frameworks and labor cost targets set for each project area.
Process & Compliance
- Standardization: Ensure all departments adhere to the studio's resource management workflows and dProject standards.
- Feedback Loops: Participate in defining task-related KPIs and evaluating the effectiveness of the current allocation strategy against studio goals.
Reporting Lines and Interfaces
- Reports to: Head of Animation Division
- Works closely with: Heads of Department, Head of Production, Department Managers, HR (Recruitment), Head of Games Division, Production Managers, VP of Operations, production technology team.
Essential skills
Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level knowledge resource planning software, with the ability to pick up proprietary softwares (dProject).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex project schedules and translate them into actionable staffing plans.
- Negotiation & Diplomacy: Proven skill in managing competing priorities between different production teams and departments (with the assistance of department managers and HODs).
- Industry Knowledge: General understanding of the 3D animation pipeline and the specific skill sets required for various production stages.
- Detail Oriented: High level of accuracy in data management and reporting to ensure financial and operational transparency.
